ArtSherlock is an application powered by an image recognition technology, which allows recognizing the paintings looted in Poland during the Second World War.

How it works?

The User needs only to take a picture of the canvas investigated in order to compare it to the digital reproductions of the paintings that are collected in the Database of War Losses founded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

If the painting is recognized as one of those looted, the application will display an appropriate alert together with some additional information about that particular piece of art. The User may subsequently report the location of the looted painting in order to assist in returning it to its owner.
